Fluidic traps are oil and gas accumulations in which the trapping element is the physical or chemical condition of the reservoir fluids. There are three regimes in the fluidic system:

  • Pressure traps
  • Temperature traps
  • Fluid-composition traps

This section discusses the regimes, classes, and families of the fluidic trap system.
